Emily received three bids for her renovation that were vastly different in price. We reviewed each one and identified what was causing the gaps in cost. Together, we created a unified scope and a list of questions for the contractors so they could revise their bids consistently.

Emily Conflicting Contractor Bids

James was advised to level a sloped floor as part of a larger historic renovation. He wasn’t comfortable covering it up without understanding why it was sloping. We discussed common causes in older homes and developed a short list of specific things to investigate before moving forward.

James Sloping Floor Concern

Becca’s renovation costs began exceeding her budget. We reviewed her estimates and billing to isolate where the biggest overruns were happening. We created a plan to regain control, including alternative materials and phasing portions of the project so at least one complete area could be finished rather than leaving multiple unfinished spaces.

Becca Budget Overruns Mid-Project

real world experience

I don't just talk about it, I do it

I don’t just consult on residential projects. I actively design and manage them.

I have led hundreds of renovations and design projects. I’ve worked through contractor conflicts, scope changes, structural concerns, and high stakes decisions in real time. I know how complex and overwhelming renovation decisions can be.

I created these sessions so you don’t have to navigate complex renovation decisions on your own.

Before You Book

What to Know Before Your Session

Is this session a design service?

This is a focused strategy session for your project. While we may discuss layout ideas, materials, or design direction, it does not include drawings, specifications, or full design services.

Do I need to complete the intake form?

Yes. The intake is required before your session.

It allows me to review your project in advance, understand your priorities, and identify the key decisions we should focus on during the call. This preparation allows us to use our time working through your project, not gathering basic information.

How much does a session cost?

Strategy sessions are $350 for a 60-minute session. Full details are provided when booking opens.

Will I receive follow-up documents?

No formal deliverables are included. You’re encouraged to take notes during the call so you can implement the guidance provided.

Can I email questions afterward?

If additional support is needed, another session can be booked.

When is a strategy session most helpful?

When you’re facing a decision, evaluating options or feeling uncertain about how to move forward with your residential project.

What if my topic isn’t on the list?

You’re welcome to submit a topic related to a U.S.-based residential project, even if it isn’t listed. If after reviewing your intake I feel the session wouldn’t be helpful, I’ll let you know in advance and refund your booking.
